History

We aim for quality education

To welcome you to Little Acorns allow me to give you a brief history of the nursery.

It was in 1999 that I received a letter regarding the availability of the lease of a local church hall. After more than a decade of working in the childcare profession, starting as a volunteer assistant and ultimately working my way up to manager, I felt this was the time for me to start my own nursery. I viewed the hall at Saint James Church, my Grandmother had been a park keeper there during my happy childhood, and so it seemed quite natural for this to be the home of Little Acorns. On 3rd April 2000 we opened our doors.

The reputation of the nursery soon grew, as did the waiting list! We expanded opening a second site, and again demand for places grew, as did the waiting list!

In 2012 we moved to our current address in Drummond Road. This fantastic new site, with separate baby area, great outside play areas, an onsite kitchen for our lovely home made meals and which enabled us to combine both nurseries was perfect. The icing on the cake was that, also, my Grandmother lived in an apartment above, so again this felt quite natural to be our new home.
